FAQ

tough questions, plain answers

Q: HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN VIDDING?
A: Since September 2006.

Q: WHAT PROGRAM DO YOU USE TO MAKE YOUR VIDEOS?
A: Sony Vegas 7.

Q: WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR CLIPS FROM?
A: I rip them from my own DVDs using a program called SmartRipper.

Q: DO YOU KNOW WHERE I COULD DOWNLOAD HARRY POTTER/STAR TREK CLIPS?
A: I don't think there is a website where you could download Star Trek clips. As for Harry Potter clips, try this amazing website: Potter Country USA.

Q: WHAT SONG/VIDEO CLIP IS PLAYING IN YOUR VIDEO?
A: All the songs I use are listed at the end of the videos. If I use some additional clips (e.g. clips from other movies/TV shows), I mention it in the video description.

Q: COULD YOU SEND ME THE SONG FROM YOUR VIDEO?
A: Sure, as long as I don't get too many requests. Just drop me a line: tgin1119 [at] gmail [dot] com.

Q: DO YOU TAKE REQUESTS?
A: I'm afraid I don't, but you can always suggest a song. I may or may not use it. It all depends on my muse, and since she is very hard to please, I usually don't use the songs that have been suggested.

Q: CAN YOU HELP ME WITH A WINDOWS MOVIE MAKER/SONY VEGAS PROBLEM?
A: I would love to help my fellow vidders, but unfortunately I'm not very good at this technical stuff, and my language skills aren't nearly good enough to explain those things in English. However, what I can do is to give you a few good links that might be very helpful: Big List of Vid Meta, The Idiots Guide to Vegas. Also, here are some great LiveJournal communities: vidding, fan_vids, accio_vids...

Q: WHY DID YOU MAKE A VIDEO WITH *INSERT SLASH PAIRING HERE*? THEY'RE NOT GAY!
A: Well, to me they are. If you don't like watching videos with gay pairings, nobody is forcing you to do that. There's plenty of excellent het videos on YouTube, which is great, so we can all watch those videos we like best, right? :) Embrace diversity!

That's all. If your question wasn't answered in this section, feel free to send me an email. Just remember that when in doubt, read the entire video description first. Usually your question is answered there. Thanks for reading! :)
